Wild Ones PA Ridge & Valley is an all-volunteer chapter running several active native plant projects across central Pennsylvania. Our larger projects take years, real funding, and sustained community effort. This page is where you can follow that work, support specific projects, or simply see what we’re building.
Our Projects

Reciprocity Food Forest: Lawn to Meadow Conversion
A multi-year, soil-first conversion of a large lawn section into a permanent native wildflower meadow — no herbicides, no shortcuts.

Reciprocity Food Forest: Rain Garden Rehabilitation
Restoring a 12,000 sq ft rain garden with over 300 Pennsylvania native plants — rebuilding stormwater function, pollinator habitat, and public food access.

Reciprocity Food Forest: Trails Project
Designing and installing a walking trail to make the food forest navigable, accessible, and ready for community programming.

Pawpaw Pathways for Zebra Swallowtail Butterflies
A long-running corridor project planting Pawpaw trees across Blair County — from Johnstown to Lewistown — to give the Zebra Swallowtail butterfly connected habitat to thrive.
Support the Chapter
Our chapter runs on volunteer energy and small donations. The General Fund covers tools, supplies, educational materials, and the everyday costs that keep 10 active sites going.
All donations are processed securely through Zeffy. Wild Ones PA Ridge & Valley is a chapter of Wild Ones Natural Landscapers, Ltd., an IRS 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
